Why did my PDF barely shrink?
Compression works on the images inside the PDF. A PDF that is mostly text and vector graphics is usually small already. “Maximum” turns pages into images to shrink further, but text is then no longer selectable.
Does it keep the text selectable?
Yes for “Recommended” and “Strong”: only the images are recompressed. “Maximum” converts every page to an image.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. Everything is calculated in your browser on your own device — nothing you type or upload is sent to a server.
