Frequently asked questions
Does removing metadata reduce quality?
No. For JPG, PNG and WebP only the metadata blocks are removed; the image data is copied unchanged. The orientation tag is kept so photos are not shown sideways.
How do I know it really worked?
After cleaning, the tool reads the new file again and confirms that no location, camera or date data is left.
Do social networks remove it anyway?
Many large platforms strip it, but email, cloud links, messaging apps that send “as file” and many websites keep the original — removing it yourself is safer.
